FEES - Fees are invoiced on a term basis and will be sent by email at the beginning of each term. Fees are due 2 weeks after the invoice has been issued. There will be no refund if students are away due to illness, injury, holidays or family commitments. A credit will be given if classes are cancelled by New Generation staff. There is a $35 enrolment fee which covers insurance, copyright and a studio Tshirt. This is charged for the first 2 children in a family enrolled at the studio. Other children in the family will incur a $10 enrolment fee. This will appear on Term 1 invoice. Fees not paid on time, unless previous arrangements have been made, could result in cancellation of enrolment. The fee schedule is listed on the website under "About".
CHILD SAFETY
At New Generation Dance Studio we are committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people. Every child has the right to be safe and feel safe. We have zero tolerance for child abuse and are dedicated to providing a safe, supportive and inclusive environment. We empower children to voice their concerns and ensure our staff are trained to protect them in accordance with the 10 National Child Safe Principals. As a child safe organisation, we commit to making sure complaints, allegations, disclosures and breaches to codes of conduct are taken seriously and appropriate action taken. We are also committed to making sure that when family and community members interact with our organisation, they are aware that child safety is everyone's responsibility, and their behaviour aligns with our child safe practices.
STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT
*Come properly dressed according to the uniform guidelines
*Hair is to be worn neatly tied back and in a bun for ballet
*Show respect to all teachers and fellow students
*Maintain a positive attitude and be open to constructive feedback
*Focus on personal improvement rather than comparing to others
* Support fellow dancers
*Bullying and gossiping will not be tolerated
*Put your rubbish in the bins provided
*Obtain permission before taking photos or videos in the studio
*Never share photos or videos of other students without consent
*Report any concerning behaviour from fellow students to teachers or parents
*Represent New Generation Dance Studio with pride and professionalism
* Refrain from spraying deodorant in the dressing room, roll on in your dance bag is a good option as some children are allergic to sprays
*Drinks in the dressing room are to be in sealed containers
*Nut free zone
*Make every lesson count – don’t be lazy
*Strong technique is a key ingredient and class is where you develop it
*Value that you belong to a community
*Students must understand that dance is fun but also a disciplined art. You may receive corrections, the teacher may yell over the music directions/corrections, you may be asked to repeat things numerous times and sometimes a teacher may take a firm stance to achieve results. This is not the teacher picking on you, disrespecting you, or having an attitude problem, but your teacher striving for results and maximizing your potential. Corrections means your teacher cares and wants you to be the best you can be!
PARENT CODE of CONDUCT
*Ensure your child arrives on time and prepared for class
*Ensure your child has the correct and appropriate dance clothes and shoes for the classes they are enrolled in
*Encourage them to respect the uniform
*Provide positive reinforcement focussed on effort and improvement to your child
*Don't compare your child to another, they are all individuals on their own dance journey
*Communicate any concerns directly with New Generation management
*Direct simple questions to staff who will be happy to answer or seek further clarification
*Refrain from negative discussions about staff, other students and families who attend New Generation Dance Studio, both in person or on social media.
*Support and encourage your child to build a healthy balance between dance and life.
*Pay fees by the specified due date
*Respect staff and student time by scheduling appointments for extended discussions
*Pick up at the designated finish time of class, coming early leads to disruption of classes.
*Please refrain from coming up the stairs during class or at pick up. It can be very disturbing for the students with no walls around the studio. The only exception will be for the younger students who require parental support.
*Photos and videos are not to be taken of any other children unless prior permission has been sought
*No photos or videos of other children, except your own, are to be shared on social media.

COMPLAINT HANDLING POLICY
This is an important policy as set out by the National Child Safe Standards. To encourage a safe dance environment children must feel empowered to speak up and raise concerns about their safety, the safety of others and the broader dance experience. A Complaint should be interpreted broadly and can include expressions of dissatisfaction about an organisation related to its services or dealings with an individual; allegations about the conduct of its staff, volunteers, other individuals engaged by the organisation or another child or young person at an organisation; or the handling of a prior concern. All complaints will be treated with respect and confidentiality.

Many minor complaints can be resolved at the initial point of contact, eliminating the need for further action, otherwise the following procedure will be adhered to.

CHILD-FOCUSED COMPLAINT PROCEDURES
In accordance with the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations (Principle 6),[^17] and the Child Safe Standards under the Children's Guardian Act 2019 (NSW):[^18]
• Children and young people can make complaints directly or through parents/carers • Children's complaints will be taken seriously and addressed promptly • Age-appropriate methods will be used when communicating with children • Staff will receive training on receiving and managing complaints from children • Child safety concerns will be prioritized and managed according to our Child Safe Policy • Mandatory reporting obligations will be fulfilled in accordance with Section 27 of the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998 (NSW)[^19] • All complaints involving children will consider the best interests of the child as paramount.
